Installation Terms & Liability
Installation Terms & Liability
Last updated: 25 February 2026
This Installation Terms & Liability Policy outlines how DP Sign Print (“we”, “us”, “our”) manages installation services, site requirements, safety obligations, and liability limitations. By booking an installation with us, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this policy.
1. Installation Scheduling
We will provide an estimated installation date based on project requirements, material availability, and workload.
Installation dates may be subject to change due to weather conditions, access issues, supplier delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
We will notify you promptly if rescheduling is required.
2. Site Access & Client Responsibilities
You must ensure safe, unobstructed access to the installation area at the agreed time.
The installation area must be clear of obstacles, hazards, or debris that could delay or prevent installation.
If access is restricted or unsafe, we reserve the right to postpone installation and apply a call‑out or re‑attendance fee.
You are responsible for informing us of any underground services, electrical wiring, structural concerns, or other risks that may affect installation.
3. Structural Suitability
You are responsible for ensuring that the surface or structure where signage is to be installed is suitable, stable, and capable of supporting the product.
We are not liable for damage or failure caused by weak, unstable, or unsuitable surfaces, hidden defects, or structural movement.
If our installers determine that the structure is unsafe, installation will be halted until the issue is resolved.
4. Specialist Access Equipment
If installation requires scaffolding, cherry pickers, or elevated platforms, additional charges may apply.
We will advise where such equipment is necessary, but final responsibility for access arrangements lies with the client unless otherwise agreed.
5. Electrical Requirements
We do not carry out electrical work unless explicitly agreed and performed by a qualified contractor.
For illuminated signage, you must ensure a suitable power supply is available at the installation point.
We are not responsible for electrical faults, power issues, or wiring not installed by us.
6. Weather Conditions
Outdoor installations may be postponed if weather conditions pose a safety risk or could compromise the quality of the installation.
High winds, heavy rain, snow, or extreme temperatures may result in rescheduling.
7. Damage During Installation
While we take every precaution to avoid damage, minor marks or disturbances may occur during installation, particularly on older or delicate surfaces.
We are not liable for damage caused by pre‑existing structural weaknesses, poorly bonded plaster or render, or fragile surfaces.
Any significant accidental damage caused directly by our installers will be assessed and addressed appropriately.
8. Post‑Installation Care
You are responsible for maintaining the signage after installation.
Damage caused by weather, vandalism, misuse, or lack of maintenance is not covered under installation liability.
We can provide aftercare guidance upon request.
9. Liability Limitations
Our liability is limited to the value of the installation service provided.
We are not liable for:
Loss of business, revenue, or profits
Indirect or consequential losses
Delays caused by factors outside our control
We do not accept liability for signage installed without appropriate permissions or approvals.
10. Planning Permission & Compliance
You are responsible for obtaining planning permission, landlord approval, or any required permits before installation.
We can advise but do not accept liability for signage installed without the necessary approvals.
Compliance with local regulations, building requirements, and health & safety standards remains the client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
11. Warranty on Installation
We provide a workmanship warranty appropriate to the type of installation carried out.
This warranty does not cover:
Damage caused by weather, accidents, or vandalism
Structural issues unrelated to our installation
Normal wear and tear
Any warranty claim must be reported promptly with supporting evidence.
12. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Installation Terms & Liability Policy periodically to reflect changes in our processes, legal requirements, or industry standards.
Any updates will be published with an updated “Last updated” date.
